The Instructors
Pete Huttlinger
Master fingerpicker Pete Huttlinger was a big hit with the attendees of the 2006 Accent On Music Seminar. In addition to his stellar playing abilities and masterful onstage presence, Pete is a talented teacher, having authored several best selling instruction titles for Homespun. Pete toured with the late John Denver, and currently tours internationally as a solo artist. He also accompanies country singer Lee Ann Rimes on her acoustic dates.
Mary Flower
We are thrilled for our friend and new Pacific NW resident Mary Flower - she has been nominated for the prestigious WC HANDY Award as acoustic blues artist of the year. That's quite an honor. Mary has seven CDs and five instructional DVDs to her credit, all featuring her delectable blues fingerpicking, bluesy lap-slide guitar, and sparkling vocals. She has played on Prairie Home Companion and E-Town, and has taught for decades on both sides of the Atlantic. She is also a two-time finalist at the national fingerpicking championship in Winfield, Kansas.
Mark Hanson
Mark Hanson is one of the top educators in acoustic guitar today, having authored several dozen titles on a wide range of subjects relating to guitar and its players. Mark is a gifted player and arranger himself, having won a Grammy in 2005 for his contributions to the Pink Guitar - The Music of Henry Mancini recording.
Mark's titles are published by Accent On Music LLC, which he and his wife Greta Pedersen founded in 1986. He was an editor and columnist at Frets magazine in the 1980s, and continues to write for a number of guitar publications. Four of his titles have been named to the Top 100 acoustic music publications by Acoustic Guitar magazine. Mark's CDs are heard regularly on syndicated radio and TV.
