Great American Songbook for Guitar
From the American Jazz Repertoire
by Mark Hanson
Don’t confuse this with Mark’s extensive book/CD of American folk tunes: Great American Tablature Song Collection.
This CD includes Mark’s fabulous solo fingerstyle guitar arrangements of American jazz standards from the great Tin Pan Alley songsmiths. Classic tunes like “In the Mood”, “Angel Eyes”, “Brother, Can You Spare A Dime”, and “Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart” highlight this CD of 13 tunes. German guitar whiz Peter Finger called Mark’s walking-bass arrangement of “Take the ‘A’ Train” the best he has ever heard.
Mark spent copious amounts of time writing, refining, and practicing these arrangements to give you the most pleasing listening experience possible. Mark’s listening CDs aren’t released all that often, so take advantage of this opportunity!
